Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Wallaceburg woman has been arrested on an endorsed warrant stemming from a retail theft investigation from August 2025.
Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a report of theft at a retail store on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg on Aug. 26, 2025, at approximately 12:33 p.m. Investigation revealed a female entered the store, selected merchandise, placed the items into a shopping bag and exited without paying.
Through surveillance footage, police identified the accused as a 42-year-old woman from Wallaceburg. She was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Police say the accused was located on Reaume Avenue in Wallaceburg on Aug. 28, 2025, at approximately 7:59 a.m., and arrested on the warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and later released with a scheduled court date of Oct. 1, 2025. After failing to attend court, a further warrant was issued.
On Feb. 9, 2026, at approximately 3:05 a.m., the accused was located during a person stop on Murray Street in Wallaceburg and arrested on the endorsed warrant. She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of March 9, 2026.
