Chatham-Kent Public Health is warning residents about potential infection risks linked to an uninspected and unlicensed tattoo and piercing provider in the community.
Public health officials say they have identified inadequate equipment disinfection practices at Willows Tattoo and Piercing, located on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. The concerns apply to services provided between Oct. 1, 2025, and March 23, 2026.
Individuals who received tattoo or piercing services at the location during that time are advised to contact their health-care provider to arrange a clinical assessment. Those without a provider are encouraged to visit a walk-in clinic for evaluation.
Public health says insufficient infection control procedures during tattooing and piercing can increase the risk of transmitting blood-borne infections, such as HIV or hepatitis, as well as skin infections.
