Chatham-Kent announces Easter weekend closures and service adjustments

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent says municipal offices and most services will be closed Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6 in recognition of the Easter weekend.

Emergency services, including police, fire and ambulance, will continue to operate 24 hours a day throughout the holiday period.

Several municipal services and facilities will see adjusted schedules. Arenas will be closed on Good Friday, with limited programming at the Thames Campus arena on Easter Monday. Cultural venues such as the Chatham Capitol Theatre and Kiwanis Theatre will remain open only for scheduled events, while facilities including the Chatham Cultural Centre, CK Museum and Thames Art Gallery will have varying closures over the long weekend.

Public health offices will be closed on both Friday and Monday, though essential after-hours services will remain available by phone. EarlyON programs and Employment and Social Services will also be closed during that time.

Transit services through Ride CK will not operate on Good Friday or Easter Sunday but will resume on Easter Monday.

Waste and recycling collection will be impacted only on Good Friday, with Friday pickup moving to Saturday, April 4. No changes are planned for the week of April 6.

Libraries across Chatham-Kent will be closed Friday and Monday but will operate as usual on Saturday, April 4 for branches that are normally open.

Municipal officials say residents should check specific service schedules and plan accordingly over the holiday weekend.
