Chatham robbery investigation results in charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police have charged a 24-year-old Chatham resident following a robbery investigation at a business on McNaughton Avenue West.

Police responded to the call at about 10:38 a.m. on June 19 and learned a suspect had allegedly stolen alcohol from the store and threatened a staff member after being confronted while leaving.

Officers later located and arrested the suspect at a residence in Chatham.

The accused is charged with robbery, theft under $5,000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
