Officials from St. Clair Township and Dynacare gathered Friday to celebrate the grand opening of a new Laboratory and Health Services Centre at the Corunna Medical Centre.
“Dynacare is proud to partner with the Township of St. Clair to bring high-quality laboratory testing and healthcare services closer to home for residents across the region,” said Vito Ciciretto, CEO of Dynacare. “This new collection centre reflects our shared commitment to improving access to care and supporting healthier communities.”
The facility, located at 14-208 Hill St., officially opened to the public on Monday, July 13. It was made possible in part through a $150,000 investment from the Township of St. Clair, funded through community benefit funding from Hydro One tied to the St. Clair Transmission Line project.
“This investment reflects the Township’s commitment to strengthening local healthcare services and improve access to care for residents,” said St. Clair Township Mayor Agar. “This new centre didn’t happen by chance—it was made possible through the persistence, advocacy, and collaboration of many partners who shared a common goal of improving access to healthcare. Thank you to Dr. Clifford and Dr. Rondinelli of the Corunna Medical Centre, Hydro One, Dynacare, and everyone who played a role in bringing this important service to St. Clair Township.”
The centre offers access to an extensive test menu with more than 1,500 tests derived from blood and urine collection, ECG, glucose tolerance testing and more. Most results will be available to health-care providers online within 24 hours of collection. Walk-in services run Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon, with residents encouraged to use Dynacare’s online check-in service to view estimated wait times before arriving.
