The Ontario Land Tribunal hearing for an appeal involving a Chatham property will no longer go ahead as scheduled, the municipality says.
The hearing, related to 9 Sarah Crescent, had been set for Aug. 17 and 18, 2026.
The municipality says the appellant submitted a significant volume of new material in recent days, after the established deadline for submissions had passed. To ensure the municipality has sufficient time to properly review the new information and prepare an appropriate response, it requested that the tribunal postpone the hearing.
The tribunal granted the request and is now working to identify a new hearing date.
The municipality says it will continue to participate in the proceedings to defend and support the Committee of Adjustment’s decision to refuse the minor variance application for the property, based on planning principles and evidence.
Further information will be provided once a new hearing date is confirmed.
