Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Small Craft Harbours program will be dredging the Erieau Channel this late summer and fall to remove sediment buildup and maintain safe navigation for commercial and recreational users.
Dredging activities are scheduled to take place between Aug. 31 and Oct. 31, 2026.
During that period, residents, visitors and mariners can expect increased marine construction activity and equipment operating within the channel.
The public is encouraged to exercise caution and follow any signage or directions from on-site personnel while the work is underway.
