Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man has been charged after allegedly threatening to shoot a family member during an incident on Semenyn Avenue in Chatham.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to the address on Saturday, Sept. 12, at approximately 11:32 a.m. following reports of a threats complaint. Investigators learned that the man had attended the residence of a family member and threatened to shoot her. Police confirmed the man does not possess a valid firearms licence.
He was located in the area and taken into custody without incident. The 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and later released on an undertaking, with a future court date set for Dec. 9, 2026.
