With deep sadness and endless love, we share the passing of John Peter Jillson on September 7, 2026.
John was known for his wonderful sense of humour and his selfless nature. He was always willing to do anything he could for anyone in need. He loved hockey and baseball and was a devoted Montreal Canadiens fan. John also appreciated the simple things in life and enjoyed relaxing at home, watching television and movies with his beloved cat, Jade.
John took great pride in his career with both the Sombra and Petrolia OPP, work that he truly loved. He also fondly remembered the many years he spent working on the Bluewater and Port Lambton ferries.
John was the loving father of Scott and Mandy and the proud grandfather of Shea, Chloe and Harley. He will also be lovingly remembered by his longtime friend Cindy, mother of his children.
John will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings, Chris (Andrea), Marnie (Willy), Leah (Dave) and Tony (Anna), as well as his many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his cat, Jade. John was predeceased by his brother, Tim (Sherrie), and his cat, Muffin.
The family would like to sincerely thank John’s nurse Blaine, for his compassionate care; his best friend Donna, for her friendship and for always keeping him company; and his brother Chris, for his support during this time.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In honour of John’s memory, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Please share a memory, story, or message of condolence at www.sarniacremationservices.com.
