Walpole Island Employment and Training, in partnership with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, is inviting the community to a walk and ceremony on Truth and Reconciliation Day to honour the children who never returned home and the survivors of residential schools.
The walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallaceburg Library, ending at Civic Square Park, with a ceremony to follow at 11 a.m. The event is expected to conclude by noon.
All are welcome to attend, and participants are encouraged to wear an orange shirt if they have one. Those who wish to bring a lawn chair can either walk with it or drop it off at the ceremony location.
