Pet and Wildlife Rescue, in partnership with Sons of Kent Brewing Co., will celebrate the success of its Sons of Kats Beer Label Contest with a VIP Night on Thursday, Oct. 23, at Sons of Kent Brewing Co. in Chatham.
The evening will feature the reveal of the winning cat and the official beer label featuring their photo. The contest invited cat owners to enter their favourite feline and rally the community to vote, and the fundraiser surpassed its original goal of $10,000. Funds raised will directly support the animals in the rescue’s care.
“We had so much fun watching the competition unfold and seeing the community get behind their favourite cats,” said Myriam Armstrong, executive director of Pet and Wildlife Rescue. “More importantly, every entry and every vote helped us raise funds for animals in need. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and to Sons of Kent for embracing this fun idea with us. Chatham-Kent cat owners sent the most amazing pictures and we had such a great time looking at each and every entry.”
The top 25 contestants will each receive one complimentary ticket and have been contacted by the rescue. Members of the public are also invited to attend. The evening will include door prizes and other surprises, with each paid ticket including a beer. Sons of Kent will feature special coasters showcasing participating cats throughout the week leading up to the event.
Tickets are available at pawr.org.
