St. Clair Township charity golf tournament raises $48,000 for local food banks

The St. Clair Township Fire Department and event sponsor CF Industries have raised $48,000 for three local food banks through the 2026 Emergency Services Charity Golf Tournament.

The tournament was held June 25 at the St. Clair Parkway Golf Course in Mooretown. The money will be distributed among St. Andrew’s Food Bank in Corunna, the Little Caring Cupboard at Brigden United Church and the Sacred Heart Food Bank in Port Lambton.

“We were so proud to host this event again alongside our friends at CF Industries,” said St. Clair Township Fire Chief Richard Boyes. “It was wonderful to see everyone come together for a day of golf, fun and, most importantly, giving back. It’s a great example of community partners working together to support our friends and neighbours in need. These donations will make a meaningful difference for our local food banks and the people they serve.”

“We are proud to support such an important cause in partnership with St. Clair Fire. The golf tournament was another success, and we want to thank everyone who supported the day,” said Steve Jonkhans, general manager of CF.

The annual tournament was revived in 2025 after being postponed due to COVID-19. In two years, it has raised a total of $90,000, providing $30,000 to each of the three food banks.
