Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton and much of Southwestern Ontario.
“Freezing rain will begin early Saturday morning over the Windsor to Sarnia areas,” Environment Canada stated at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. “Current indications from forecast computer model guidance are that a couple of hours of freezing rain will occur and then change over to rain as the temperature rises above the freezing mark. Ground temperatures below freezing may also result in icy and slippery surfaces continuing through the morning.”
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
