Many livestock shows will highlight the 140th annual Dresden Exhibition.

Alicia VanEsse, an executive member with the Dresden Agricultural Society, says the livestock show starts at 10 a.m. with the local Dresden 4H Beef Club.

“The show is called their ‘Achievement Day.’ After that we have an Inter County Show which we have invited all 4H Members from different counties such as Lambton County, Glenoce, Tilbury and all over to come and present their animal,” VanEsse said. “Then we have an open show which anyone can show in. Big or small. We are proud to say that we usually have 60- 80 head of cattle there.”

VanEsse added they have the horse show again this year too.

“They are also introducing the speed show is back again. That’s pretty cool. 4H Inter-county Region 6 Sheep Show & Speed Show at 1 p.m. on Sunday.”

“There is one thing that we have started and it is getting bigger and bigger. On Saturday at 4:00pm right after the Cattle Show we do Muttin Bustin which is sheep riding for younger kids. You have to be between the ages of 4 – 7. It is a competition to see who can last the longest on a sheep. You register at the cattle barns at the Ed Stanley building.”
