Car nearly crashes into Sydenham River

A Wallaceburg teen is facing careless driving charges after nearly crashing into the Sydenham River.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say yesterday morning, shortly after 11:00 a.m. police responded to a single motor vehicle collision near the Langstaff Line and Water Street intersection, south of Kent Line.

The driver lost control of his vehicle and came to rest in a ditch.

The 17-year-old Wallaceburg teen was charged with careless driving.

Damage was estimated at $2,000.

No one was injured.
