Razor blades stolen in Wallaceburg, woman arrested

A Wallaceburg woman faces charged after a shoplifting incident.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say on April 11 a woman allegedly attended Shoppers Drug Mart in Wallaceburg.

Police allege that while in the store, the woman concealed two packages of razor blades in her purse and exited the store without making any attempt to pay for the items valued at $50 each.

The woman was confronted by a store supervisor and turned over one of the packages of razors blades and fled the area, police say.

Police were able to identify the woman from video surveillance and sought a warrant for the woman’s arrest.

The 32-year-old woman of Wallaceburg was located yesterday morning during a police vehicle stop and arrested for the outstanding warrant for theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

She was later released pending a future court date of May 21, 2018.
