The Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) is inviting adults to explore their community and enjoy a good book this summer through a reading challenge that runs from June 27 to August 31. By borrowing materials from any of CKPL’s 11 branches, readers aged 16 and up can earn entries into a draw for a summer-themed prize pack, featuring gift cards to businesses highlighted on the VisitCK Ice Cream and Bakery Trails.
Participants can get started by picking up an Adult Summer Reading punch card at any branch. Every three checkouts earns a punch, and completed cards serve as ballots for the prize draw. Those who share their experience visiting a business from either trail will receive an extra punch, increasing their odds of winning.
The initiative aims to promote both literacy and local tourism, encouraging residents to enjoy what Chatham-Kent has to offer. No library card is required to participate—visitors can register for a traditional or virtual card by visiting www.ckpl.ca/virtualcards.
