Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum will welcome the public for Artifact Day on Sunday, July 6, 2025, inviting visitors to explore the world of archaeology through interactive experiences and expert insights. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Longwoods Road Pavilion, the event is held in partnership with the Ontario Archaeological Society – London Chapter.
Hands-on activities will be available throughout the day, giving participants the chance to craft mini clay pots, excavate arrowheads, sketch artifacts, and test their skills in an interactive dig pit. In the afternoon, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., visitors are encouraged to bring their own artifacts for identification by the Ontario Archaeological Society, and to engage with the Museum of Ontario Archaeology through curated artifact kits and live flint knapping demonstrations. Local archaeological practitioners will also be on hand to showcase tools and answer questions about the field.
With free admission and a setting surrounded by nature, the event encourages guests to pack a picnic and spend the day exploring the village, hiking the trails, and reconnecting with the environment. Parking is $5 and can be paid by coin or credit card, with an LTVCA Parking Pass also accepted. Activity purchases are cash only.
Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum is located within Longwoods Road Conservation Area at 8348 Longwoods Road, just south of Mount Brydges.
