Two big road wins for Wallaceburg Red Devils

The Wallaceburg Red Devils picked up two huge road wins on the weekend, beating Elora 10-8 and Orangeville 15-10.

Tyler Brown led the offence over Elora on Saturday, June 2 wiht a 5-point night, 1 goal and 4 assists.

A total of nine other Red Devils players scored one goal in the win, including markers from newly acquired players Blain Adams and Korey Conroy.

Brayden Bell was solid between the pipes, making 32 saves for the victory.

“Jumped on them early,” said coach Jamie Knight.

“Defence did their job and Bell shut the door.”

Brown and Sidney Powless led the charge on Sunday, June 3 over the defending champion Northmen, with 6 points apiece, 2 goals and 4 assists each.

Kyle Dawson scored 3 goals and added 2 assists for 5 points and Tanner Cole scored twice and added 3 assists for 5 points as well.

MacCoy Abrams added 3 goals for Wallaceburg.

Bell made 37 saves for the win.

Wallaceburg now sits at 14-2 on the season, good for first place in the Far West Division of the Ontario Junior ‘B’ Lacrosse League.

The team has clinched a playoff berth as well.

The Red Devils will be back in action on Saturday, June 9 on the road in St. Catharines.
