Sombra Township Child Care celebrates expansion at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Port Lambton (Video)

Sombra Township Child Care celebrated the completion of their expansion at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Port Lambton, during an open house held on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

In 2020, the Ontario government announced funding for construction at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Port Lambton that would include a child care expansion for the current services offered.

The expansion would increase Sombra Township Child Care’s licensed capacity by creating 17 additional spaces and amalgamation of their site at the St. Clair Township Community Services Building and the preschool program at Sacred Heart Catholic School.

The Open House included a dedication to their Retired Manager, Carol Flanagan.

Those in attendance at the Open House, included: Mayor Jeff Agar, St. Clair Township, Melissa Fitzpatrick, Manager of Homelessness Prevention and Child Care Services, The County of Lambton, Marcie Myers, Manager of Finance, SCCDSB, STCC Board of Directors.

Sombra Township Child Care has been in operation since 1992.
