Everyone is invited to “Investing in People”, the first show of the CK Community Development Forum for this calendar year. The televised one hour presentation by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and TV COGEO will be held in the Municipal Council Chambers, Civic Centre, Chatham on Monday, March 17 at 6:00 p.m.

Chatham-Kent citizens and program managers will discuss our community’s progress in the “People” category of Council’s Directions:

Chatham-Kent is a welcoming community where people choose to live, learn, work, and play

  • Attract and retain residents with a focus on young people, immigrants and active retirees
  • Cultivate opportunities for people to connect through culture, arts, recreation, and community activity
  • Support and encourage the community and citizen engagement
  • Promote the diversity of CK’s cultural heritage
  • Invest in services and programs that reduce poverty and enhance prosperity

“Our community priorities are jobs, people, health and financial sustainability,” said Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope. “Chatham-Kent encourages everyone who wants to build our community – citizens, partners, investors, and newcomers of all kinds. This will be a discussion of what we’re doing, how we’re doing, and how we measure our success going forward.”

“Investing in People” will be hosted by Adam Vandermey, CSA, who is a Financial Advisor at Sun Life Financial in Blenheim, President of the Blenheim Business Improvement Association (BIA), Former Chair of the Blenheim and Community Task Force, Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, and a board member of the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.

The show will be featured live on TVCOGECO and community members can join the conversation in person, by Twitter using the hash tag #CKpeople, or by searching “CK Community Development Forum” for TV COGECO’s Facebook page.
