It remains business as usual in the front, but at Burns Restaurant and Catering in Dresden, it’s turning into a party in the back.

Rob Burnett and his wife Erin have transformed the back room of their Dresden business into a seperate area to their restaurant.

“It holds about 30 people, 30 to 40 depending on the lay out,” Rob said. “It’s open Friday, Saturday and Sundays at night.”

Rob said the room is available for people to book anytime for private functions, meetings or gatherings.

“It has got its own salad bar and soup, just like out front,” Rob said. “It’s full service, has it’s own bathroom, waitres station, till.”

Rob said the room has only been ready since the beginning of February, but it has already gotten some great use.

“We’re getting tons of bookings,” he said. “I’ve got some booked in May and June already. It’s just starting to go because people are just starting to find out about it.”

Rob said if people want to book the room and plan to eat, there is no fee.

“If it is just a meeting then there is a fee, if they are going to have dinner or lunch then we don’t charge because you’re coming in and you’re going to be ordering anyway,” he said. “If it is a factory or an office having a meeting, then there is a room charge, but if you’re having food it’s waived.”

There are different options available for what people can order in the room.

“We’ve had buffets out here already, we’ve got another coming up with a buffets or 30 or 32 people,” Rob said. “A lot of people just order off the menu. We had figure skating teams in here for a competition that was in town just having pizza and salad bar.”

There is a seperate entrance to the new part of the restaurant, at the very back of the building.
