‘We Believe in Dresden Day’ coming May 31

CK Dresden Arboretum

We Believe in Dresden Day is a FREE midday family fun fest that will be held on May 31.

Organizers with the Dresden & District Christian Ministerial Association said this year they are blessed to have a small army of estheticians from St. Clair College doing free manicures, pedicures and waxing – along with a professional hairstylist.

Other activities planned for the day, include:

– Estheticians and hair cutting in the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Hall.

– Hot dog BBQ on the lawn beside the church.

– Neighbourhood Watch Bike Rodeo (11:30-1) on St. John Street (in front of the Czech Hall) and free bike draw.

– Free bike tune ups by SportChek.

– Inflatables, games, popcorn and candy floss.

– Puppet show in the Czech Hall.

– Horse-drawn wagon rides.

– Crafts, corn sandbox.

– Fire truck on display.

– Free Comics.

– First Responder’s Breakfast at North Dresden Baptist Church, 9 a.m.

Rev. Andy Cornell of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Dresden said he is proud to work with the Ministerial Association.

“We’ve got every denomination working together,” he said. “They sit at the table and don’t argue, don’t fight. They know they have differences, but they just put them aside. I’ve never seen another place like Dresden, where virtually all the churches work together with no competition in mind. You’d be hard pressed to find any other town or city in Ontario that has this type of collaboration and cooperation.”

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
