Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is celebrating National Nursing Week to recognize the contributions that local nurses make as part of the interprofessional team providing exceptional care for Chatham-Kent patients and their families.
This year, CKHA will celebrate 409 Registered Nurses (RN), 183 Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) and 9 Nurse Practitioners (NP).
The National Nursing Week Theme “Nursing: A Leading Force for Change” celebrates nurses and their dedication to improving patient care. CKHA encourages its staff to find innovative solutions for providing positive outcomes for patients and their families.
Over the past year, CKHA’s nursing staff made enormous contributions to improving the quality and safety of care delivered to patients at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s campuses in Wallaceburg and Chatham.
CKHA is especially proud of the nurses who have engaged in and/or completed advanced education this year. This includes RPN’s who are attending Centennial College/Ryerson University Program leading to a BScN degree. We also recognize RN’s who have returned to school to obtain a BScN, and those nurses who are in the process of completing a Masters Degree or their Nurse Practitioner designation. We congratulate all nurses and staff who through returning to formal education or by participation/attendance at local, provincial, national and international conferences, demonstrate daily their commitment to safe quality patient care.
During National Nursing Week, CKHA has various events planned to recognize nurses as well as awarding its seventh annual, “Compassionate Caregiver Award”. This award recognizes an individual caregiver or group who have demonstrated their commitment to providing compassionate care to patients they serve.
