A 20-year-old Walpole Island man appeared in court briefly today (May 28) via video, facing attempted murder charges.
He is one of two men charged, after an altercation between two men at Sam’s Hotel on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg on May 20.
A 19-year-old man was transported to the Sydenham Campus with life threatening head injuries.
He remains in critical condition in London.
The 20-year-old man is due in court on Thursday (May 29) for a show cause hearing.
Police officials told the Sydenham Current the hearing will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Chatham court house.
An 18-year-old man has been named as an accessory to the crime and is also facing a charge of obstructing a peace officer.
He is set to appear in court on Friday for a bail hearing at 10:30 a.m.
Police continue to investigate the case.
