A former Wallaceburg resident is coming home next month to help ensure people have their estates and wishes in order.

Brittany Fish, B.A., J.D., is coming back to Wallaceburg for the month of July providing mobile services for wills and power of attorney.

Fish is originally from Wallaceburg and moved to Ottawa two years ago.

“I lived in Wallaceburg up until I was 27,” she said. “I went to school in Windsor during that time period. I got my undergraduate degree in criminology and then I got my Juris Doctorate while I was there. After that I spent the 10 months articling at a firm in Windsor for a civil litigation firm.”

Fish added: “I ended up moving to Ottawa… about a year after I moved I started my own business. Since September, I‘ve come home about every two months and booked clients in Wallaceburg.”

Fish is available anytime during the month of July, and she’ll be working seven-days a week preparing legal will and power of attorney documents for people in and around her hometown.

“Depending on the amount of questions someone has… the initial intake form, you can fill out ahead of time, it usually takes anywhere from a half hour to an hour,” she said. “From there we will go into the drafting stage… so I’ll meet with the client and we’ll go over the draft of the will, which again is about half an hour. If any changes need to be made, I have everything mobile. I have a mobile printer, scanner and my computer. Everything can be changed at the clients home.”

Fish added: “I have a witness that I bring with me, they sign all the documents. The total process can be done all in one day, or in separate meetings, usually in total 2-3 hours.”
