Organizers are deeming the 2nd annual Pete Cram Memorial Golf Tournament a success.

The Tartan Alumni Fund held the tournament at Baldoon Golf Club in Wallaceburg on Saturday (June 21) under beautiful, sunny skies.

“Success can be measured in different ways,” said Ron Thomson, a director with the Tartan Alumni Fund. “We were successful in raising money for our two scholarships and help another local charity raise money for the Port Lambton Splash Pad, through a 50/50 draw. That was a success.

Thomson added: “Most importantly we succeeded in getting friends, family and colleagues together to have fun and remember our dear friend Pete Cram for another year. As long as we can provide that service to everyone who knew him, that will be considered our biggest success for years to come.”

All proceeds from the tournament go towards the Tartan Alumni Fund, a registered charity who provides two annual scholarships to graduating students from Wallaceburg District Secondary School.

The 2nd Peter J. Cram Memorial Scholarship and the 10th WDSS Alumni Award will be given out at the high school commencement on Thursday June 26, at 7 p.m.
