On Saturday July 19, 2014 just before 11:00PM a Sarnia Police Service C.O.P.P.S officer was involved in a pursuit.

The officer was in the 1600 block of London Line when he noticed a black pickup truck exit a motel parking lot with improper license plates.

The officer pulled the truck over and approached to speak to the male driver who was the only person in the truck.

As the officer approached, the driver of the truck sped off eastbound at a high rate of speed.

The officer got back into the cruiser and pursued the truck.

The truck continued east until it came to Telfer Road where it turned south.

The truck continued south across Confederation Line and then Churchill Line.

South of Churchill Line the truck turned east onto an old dirt farm road.

At this point the officer discontinued the pursuit.

The officer continued on foot and found the abandoned truck in a corn field.

The driver of the truck had driven to the end of the road and then entered the corn field.

The driver then fled on foot after removing the license plate.

The black pickup truck had the vehicle identification numbers removed and had obviously been stolen. Officers were unable to locate the male suspect in the wooded area surrounding the cornfield.
