Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham can add another accolade to his growing list of accomplishments.

Suisham has been named the offensive special teams captain for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“It’s something I didn’t anticipate,” Suisham said in an article on steelers.com. “There are a lot of different personalities in the locker room and I think we can all lead in different ways. Hopefully I can do that by the example of being a consistent player.”

Suisham joins quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, safety Troy Polamalu and safety Robert Golden as the team captains, as voted on by the entire team.

Suisham and the Steelers will kick off their regular season on Sunday at home against the Browns.

Kick off is set for 1 p.m.
