‘Belligerent’ and ‘obscene’ calls lead to charges

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following an incident in Wallaceburg over the weekend.

On September 5th around 3:00 p.m. two men, known to each other, became involved in an argument over the telephone.

During the next few hours, the angered man continued to call the victim leaving him belligerent, obscene and threatening messages.

Yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested.

The 47-year-old Wallaceburg has been charged with two counts of uttering threats.

He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
