Neil Merritt of Thamesville

NEIL-MERRITT-250x300Merritt: Neil a resident of Thamesville, passed away suddenly at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the age of 83.

Beloved son of the late Arthur and Jean Wilson.

Neil loved baseball, volunteering his time coaching for many years, and he never passed up a good game of cards.

Best friend and companion of Marie Neville.

Loving father of Cindy Sterling (Donald) of Grande Pointe and Gene Merritt (Lisa) of Chatham.

Loving grandpa of Jen Merritt, Shane Thomson (Nicole Fuchs), Joel Merritt (Devon Arsenault), Jordan Sterling, Wayne Chandler, Chris Chandler and great-granddaughter Sophia Merritt.

Sadly missed by his furry companion Muffin.

Also survived by his daughter-in-law Brigitte Davis (Chris) and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his sons Brian Merritt and William Merritt; a sister Florence Chinnick (Ed); and a brother William Merritt.

The Merritt family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm.

The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11AM with Pastor Lynn Brown officiating.

Interment Arnold Cemetery, Lousiville.
