Dresden prevailed in the first match-up of the season in the Highway 78 series.
It was the Kings topping the Wallaceburg Lakers 4-2 in a close match-up.
The Kings jumped out to a 2-0 after one period, with goals from Blake Padbury (John Montgomery, Will Tetzlaff) and Derek Daly (Taylor Sisson, Jim McKinlay.)
Wallaceburg cut the lead in half with a goal by Matt Clark in the second period.
Jim McKinlay scored on thje power play (Taylor Sisson, Ross Krieger) in the third period to make the score 3-1.
Clark scored his second of the game (Frankie White, Evan Weidenbach) at the 12:45 mark to get the Lakers within one of the Kings, however, Graham Smyth scored an empty net goal (Jim McKinlay, Taylor Sisson) to cap off the win.
Scott Tricker made 25 saves in the win.
Joel Sowinski stopped 28 shots in the loss.
Dresden will head to Wheatley Saturday night in their next match-up.
Wallaceburg will be off until Wednesday, when they host Blenheim.
