A popular downtown lunch spot in Wallaceburg  will be closing up shop after today.
Chez Denise Bistro and Cafe will be closing its doors.
“Thank you to all of our customers who made Chez Denise what it is,” read a chalk board in the restaurant, during a bustling final lunch hour.
The message written by owner Denise Hatfield, comes five years after she opened up the downtown business.
Hatfield is getting set to retire.
“You came in as strangers and left as friends, each and everyone of you. Thank you for your support and love. We will miss you very much.”
The restaurant was always a fixture for people during lunch in the Wallaceburg community and during their pasta nights on Wednesdays.
They also developed quite a reputation for their amazing Reuben sandwiches as well.
The business is up for sale.
Here is a listing to check out, if you are interested.
