The Wallaceburg Lakers picked up their first win of the season over the Dresden Kings last night at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena in Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League action.
The Kings jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period, with goals from Derek Daly and Mike Myers.
However, Wallaceburg stormed back in the second period with three straight goals from Trevor Waller, Mike Kindrachuk and Matt Clark.
Derrick VanEvery evened things up for Dresden with his second period goal, before Clark scored his second of the night to put Wallaceburg up 4-3 heading into the third period.
John Montgomery quickly evened the game up in the third period with a goal for Dresden, but at the 12:22 mark of the third Jackson Gray scored the game-winning goal for Wallaceburg.
Clark added another goal late, to complete the hat-trick.
Wallaceburg improved their record to 1-5-0-1 on the year, while Dresden falls to 5-4-0-0.
Funds were also raised at the game for breast cancer aweareness.
