The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a suspicious person complaint in Chatham last night.

Around 10:30 p.m. a woman on Oxley Drive was in her bedroom when she observed a man peering at her through the window.

The woman provided police with physical descriptors of the man as they are known to each other through a mutual friend.

Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.

Just before midnight, an officer on general patrol observed the man driving southbound on Glenwood Drive near McNaughton Avenue.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that he was also suspended from driving for unpaid fines. As the officer spoke with the man, he detected a strong odour of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

A plastic bag containing approximately two grams of marijuana was seized.

The vehicle was towed from the roadway.

The 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with voyeurism, criminal harassment, driving while under suspension and drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
