PRATT; SHERRY LYNN, a resident of Wallaceburg, was granted her angel wings on October 24, 2014, following her inspirational and formidable battle with cancer.
Her final days were spent surrounded by her children, family and friends that Sherry had touched in some small way throughout her short, yet memorable life.
Sherry’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of the time in which one lives.
Although Sherry’s illness made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges.
With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories and it has been a privilege to be her parents.
Sherry leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced her quality of life and maintained dignity in her death.
Sherry’s love extends to her many wonderful nurses, in particular, Lisa, Vivian, and Janette.
The family would like to thank all of Sherry’s supporters for her fundraising efforts to cover numerous costs throughout her battle not covered by insurance.
A special thank you to the fundraising efforts of A.A. Wright Public School for helping to ensure Sherry’s children and family could be with her to support her fight against cancer.
Words simply cannot convey our gratitude for allowing our family to be at her side throughout her battle when she needed a loving hand to hold most.
Sherry is survived by her loving companion in life Brett; her children Mike, Nathan, and Landon Pratt; loving parents David and Carol Pratt; brother and close friend Steven Pratt; precious granddaughter Olivia; grandmothers Madeleine Pratt and Joan Gustin; Brett’s two daughters Tristen and Rachael; Brett’s mother Helen; godson Dylan; uncles and aunts Paul and Caroline, Dianne and Bruce, Tom and Alma, Gary and Judy, Will and Joan, Marty and Brenda, Mike Gustin, Don Gustin, Ginny and Arden, Steve and Trish; close friends Toni and Jamie, Kim and Greg, Ivy and Tom, Barb, Shannon, Mandy, and Tracy; and many cousins, friends, and supporters too numerous to mention but equally loved and appreciated.
Sherry was predeceased by Grandfathers Charles Pratt and Bill Gustin; Uncle Rob Gustin; and loving friend Bing Okrucky.
Visitation hours will be Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home in Wallaceburg.
There will be a memorial service following at 11:00 am.
A trust fund has been established in the name of Sherry’s 10-year-old son, Landon Pratt.
If desired, donations to the trust fund or a charity of your choice may be left at the funeral home.
