A trio of dogs, who were left abandoned in the freezing cold, are now at the Wallaceburg Animal Shelter.

A four-year-old boxer/lab mix named Honey was found in a ditch on January 14 at 1:10 a.m. on Bearline Road, between Pine Line and Belle Rose Line.

Officials at the Wallaceburg Animal Shelter said Honey was “skin and bones” and only weighed 15 pounds when she was brought to the shelter.

She is now up to 17 pounds, but this type of dog should weigh at least 50 pounds, officials said.

Honey is available to be fostered.

Two other dogs were found shivering recently in Wallaceburg.
