The search for a missing 17-year-old girl has shifted to Chatham-Kent.

Const. Andrew Drouillard of the Windsor Police Service told the Sydenham Current that the search continues for Taiylor Whiteye.

“We are working with the OPP,” Drouillard said. “We believe she is in the area of Moraviantown.”

Windsor Police received a report on Tuesday, February 3 that the girl was missing and they were concerned for her well being.

Police officials had originally received information that she may be in Sarnia, but possibly heading back to Windsor.

Wallaceburg resident Christa Whiteye, Taiylor’s mom, told the Sydenham Current she is concerned for her daughter’s safety and fears her daughter is being held against her will.

She said Taiylor was last seen getting into a black Dodge Ram pickup truck at her grandparents home on Walpole Island, on Sunday, Feb. 1.

Her family has not heard from her since.

The Windsor Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating her.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Windsor Police at 519-255-6700 ext. 4390, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 519-258-8477 (TIPS),
