The RunCK race series has released its schedule for this years events.

The RunCK race series is county wide. Individuals will receive points for every race they participate in.

Runners who have participated in the most races of the season, and have gathered enough points will receive prizes at a banquet taking place at the end of the year.

In the middle of the schedule lies Wallaceburg’s sole entry in the series “The Wambo Run” headed by Wallaceburgs Defiance Running Club.

This will mark the third year for The Wambo Run.

“We just want to grow our club and our program,” said Mark Childs, president of the club.

The Wambo run is not until August 8, but there are plenty of activities to become involved with in the meantime.

The Defiance Running club currently has a partnership with Wallaceburg District Secondary School that offers a chance to walk the hallways of the school in the cold weather.

For $10 participants can walk the hallways Monday to Friday until the end of April.

You can sign up at the front desk at WDSS.

The Defiance Running Club currently has 154 adult members enrolled in the club, and has 2,500 youth members through a partnership with the Lambton-Kent District School Board.

As for the future of the Defiance Running Club, Mark Childs says their main focus remains, and always has been to “keep people off the couch.”

Information on the defiance running club is available at the website www.defiancerunningclub.ca.
