The Chatham-Kent police have arrested two men in connection with a break and enter early this morning in Chatham.
At 2:50 a.m. police responded to an alarm at Mike’s Place on Queen Street.
Upon arrival, officers learned that unknown suspects had forced their way into the business and stolen bottles of liquor valued at approximately $300.
Through investigation, police identified the men responsible and they were both taken into custody around 5:00 a.m. on Park Street.
During the arrest, one of the men falsely identified himself to the officers.
His true identity was eventually learned which revealed that he was currently bound by several release conditions.
A 22-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter.
A 19-year-old Walpole Island man has been charged with break and enter, obstruct police and five counts of failing to comply.
They have both been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
