Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) under the direction of Detective Inspector Dave Hillman of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), has arrested and charged a male suspect with First Degree Murder for a 2006 homicide.
The investigation into the murder began in 2006 when the victim, 40-year-old Nancy Quick was struck down in broad day light by a hit and run driver while walking to her vehicle in Tecumseh, Ontario.
The stolen vehicle was recovered a short time later on IC Roy Drive where witnesses saw a male exiting the vehicle.
The victim was rushed to Hotel Dieu Hospital in Windsor with critical injuries and later transferred to Receiving Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where she died five days later.
Yesterday, March 11, 2015 the OPP arrested and charged 48-year-old Scott Douglas Quick, from Brighton, Ontario with First Degree Murder.
Quick, the victims estranged husband, will appear in Ontario Court – Provincial Division in Windsor around 2:00 p.m. today to answer to the charge.
“I would like to take this time to thank the Quick and the Galbraith families for their ongoing support and patience over these very difficult years. This case has no happy ending. Two children lost their Mother to a tragic and violent set of circumstances in 2006 and these same two children are now faced with the fact that their Father is the person charged with perpetrating the offence,” stated CIB Detective Inspector Dave Hillman.
