Terrorism threat leads to charges

On April 10, 2015, the Chatham-Kent Police were contacted by the RCMP to follow up with an incident.

It was learned that a Chatham man had placed a telephone call to the Library of Parliament, stating that he wanted to blow up Parliament, as part of a revolution against Parliament Hill.

A 49-year-old Chatham man was apprehended by police without incident, and charged with Hoax – Terrorist Activity, as well as Uttering Threats.

He was held in custody for a future court appearance.
