DNR Outdoor Power Equipment in Dresden has the answers and products for local residents looking for a new lawn mower – whether it is for residential or commercial purposes.

Rob Northcott, one of the owners of DNR, said the Dresden business carries some of the top brands of mowers – Columbia and Exmark

“With the Columbia brand we’ve got a rear-engine rider and a full line of yard and lawn tractors.

Northcott said the rear-engine riders are ideal for small lots.

“The steering is in the front and the engine is in the back, you can make the steering wheel turn a lot tighter. They are for small, confined spaces… a nice, small unit.”

Northcott said the Columbia line gets into the full line of lawn tractors and “what they call yard tractors, which is just an upgrade in the tractor.

“They have 38-inch decks, 42-inch decks and 46-inch decks in the yard tractors. There are various engines, Kohler engines in some, Briggs and Stratton in the other and some MTD engines,” he said.

DNR is also carrying the garden tractors from the Columbia line.

“A garden tractor is something you can put attachments on, both on the front and the back,” Northcott said. “A garden tiller can attach to the back… these accessories are only available in the garden tractors.”

“We also have a couple different styles of zero turns. They’ve got a couple of the conventional zero turn tractors with the levers, they also have zero-turn with a steering wheel. For some people it is tough to get used to steering with the two levers, so they’ve made it easy for everybody by putting a steering wheel on there. These are available in 42, 50, and 54-inch decks.”

DNR will also have Columbia push mowers for sale.

“Starting with just a regular push with a 21-inch deck, straight up to a self-propelled, 21-inch deck, with bagger systems. We have a full line of these,” Northcott said.

“We’re also going to be carrying Columbia’s garden tillers, which are walk behind units. There will be a front tine tiller and a rear-tine tiller as well.”

Northcott said Exmark is a company that focuses on zero-turns for home, large estate and commercial use.

“We are carrying three lines of the zero-turns.”

Quest: A homeowner unit that is very economically priced. They come in two models. The lever drive steers and also with steering wheels.

Pioneer: An estate-type mower. They have various size decks, from 48, 52 and 60-inch decks. Heavier duty machines with real heavy duty construction mower decks on them.

Laser: The number one selling zero-turn in the United States. More of the commercial line of lawn mowers, starting with a 48-inch deck, all the way up to a 72-inch deck.

“If you come try it out, you’ll love them. It cuts your mowing time down. On a conventional yard, if it took you two hours to mow your yard, with the same size deck you could probably cut your mowing time in half,” Northcott said about the Exmark Laser.

He added they have an assortment of other commercial grade equipment: aerators, stand-on seaters, commercial walk behind lawn mowers,

DNR Outdoor Power Equipment is located at 29631 Irish School Road, north Dresden.
