Arrest made after SUV was stolen and crashed

On April 21, 2015 members of the Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the 6000 Block of Confederation Line, Town of Plympton- Wyoming to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a SUV that had been stolen from the City of Sarnia.

Upon OPP arrival it was discovered that the damage to the stolen vehicle was significant.

The operator of the stolen vehicle was nowhere to be found which caused concern as to potential injuries and investigative issues.

The OPP maintained a secure perimeter while members of the Emergency Response Team and K9 searched for the driver of the S.U.V. and any potential suspects.

As officers searched for a suspect the OPP became aware that an unknown male had broken into a neighboring home.

A short time later the OPP apprehended a 26 year old male who had been hiding within a nearby agricultural property.

As a result of this investigation, the OPP arrested a 26-year-old Sarnia man.

He was to appear in the Sarnia Court on April 22, 2014 for a Bail Hearing in order to answer to the criminal charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Break and Enter to a Residence, Theft Under $5000, Fail to Stop at the Scene of an Accident, Breach of Probation and Fail to Comply with a Recognizance X2.
