The fares for passenger vehicles crossing at the Walpole-Algonac Ferry will remain unchanged after all.
“The one-way vehicle rate will remain at $7,” their website states.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to providing you with safe and timely service across the St. Clair River.”
Sources say the matter was discussed at the Walpole Island band council meeting on Tuesday evening.
Many Walpole residents had expressed their concern over the proposed 43% ferry fare hike.
