On Thursday May 8, 2015 a citizen contacted police to report a suspicious phone call.
An unknown male caller reportedly identifying himself as working for the “Criminal Investigations of Canada” requested monies for an outstanding tax debt.
The male on the phone gave a badge number, case number, and warrant number and identified himself as a member of a police service and requested monies to be paid immediately.
Citizens should know that the Police never make contact with members of the public in this manner.
If you should receive a similar phone do not give any personal information and contact police immediately.
