The soundtrack for the 40th annual Thamesville Threshing Fest is set to include some top-notch local bands and musicians. People will have the opportunity to catch the LIVE sets at the July 3-4 event.
“Kicking off on stage Friday night in the beer gardens is Face 4 Radio at 9 p.m.” said Kristy Metcalfe, advertising chair with the event. “They are basically a top 40, rock, dance and they do play some country. They are well known in the area. We are looking forward to have them on, they seem to be a good fit for what we look for on a Friday night.”
Kristy added: Generally speaking people like top 40 music. Friday night is a very heavy crowd, usually 1,500 people coming and going in the beer gardens. There is a $5 cover charge for the beer garden Friday night only, to help cover some of the cost of the entertainment. Of course age of majority is required.”
Also, one of their sponsors Home James will be available to get people home that night, by calling 519-351-3353.
“We started that last year actually, we want to make sure that our patrons get home safely. We want to make sure that we are socially responsible as well and we encourage designated drivers too.”
Kristy said on Saturday, the Entertainment run from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with Tina Pumfrey.
“Tina and her band is basically christian rock. She just recently released her original CD back in January so this is exciting for Tina to be performing for her home town.”
Then from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Jacklyn Wills from Dresden will hit the stage.
“Jacklyn is a young country artist just starting out. She will be on for an hour before Stay Tuned goes on stage. Stay Tuned is a bluegrass rock band… sort of a different sound than we are used to. They play from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m until the fish fry.”
Kristy said there is a pie auction at this time, so the entertainment is halted until 9 p.m. when Kerosene Creek takes the stage.
“Kerosene Creek is a country band. They have played the last couple years at the Boot Hill Jamboree. They come highly recommended from the founder of Boot Hill Jamboree. We have consulted him this year because we wanted something different for our Saturday night band. Something that we haven’t seen at Threshing Fest before. We are looking forward to having them as well.”
Kristy added that Saturday is an all ages show.
“Age of majority is only required if purchasing alcohol tickets but the beer garden is actually open to all ages so that everybody can enjoy the entertainment that is going on in the beer gardens on the Saturday. There is no cover fee on the Saturday. Home James is available Saturday as well.”
