A local woman decided to pay it forward, after winning a prize through the Sydenham Current.
Glassroots Media, the parent company for the Sydenham Current, ran their Win On Wednesday (WOW) contest last week with the help of the contest sponsor mPower Electric and the prize donor, DMS Veterinary Group.
Up for grabs was a 1-year pet wellness plan from DMS and Anna Debusschere was drawn as the lucky winner.
After being contacted about her win, Debusschere didn’t hesitate about what she wanted to do with her prize.
“I would like to donate the prize to the PAWR (Pet and Wildlife Rescue) group if that is possible,” she said.
“I have two dogs but they have everything they need and so many pets could use the help and that is an awesome organization.”
After a quick chat with DMS Veterinary Group, the PAWR group was setup with a credit at their clinics.
Myriam Armstrong, president of PAWR, was ecstatic with the donation.
“We are thrilled to learn that the DMS prize has so generously being donated to our organization,” she said. “This is an excellent opportunity for us to start our community funds which will be available for people in dire need of help for their pets when tragedy strikes.”
Armstrong added: “We want to thank the generous donor, we are so lucky to live in such a giving community.”
