Federal election being held Oct. 19

The 2015 Canadian federal election will officially be held on October 19, 2015.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper requested writs of election for a federal general election from Governor General David Johnston on Sunday, August 2.

With this early start, this election campaign will mark the longest in modern Canadian history.

In Lambton-Kent-Middlesex this year, incumbent MP Bev Shipley will look to keep his seat. Shipley is running once again for the Progressive Conservative Party.

Rex Isaac, a Walpole Island band councillor, is representing the NDP.

Ken Filson, who works for Libro Credit Union, is running for the Liberals.

And Jim Johnston will be representing the Green Party once again.

  1. Elections Canada has set up an office beside CK Spices, Coffee & Teas in Wallaceburg. They are located at 233 Creek Street in the former Hyde Hyde & McGregor office.
