Wallaceburg Lakers training camp getting started

The Wallaceburg Lakers will take to the ice for the first time this season on the weekend.

Training camp will get under way in Chatham for the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League squad.

For anyone interested in trying out they must be born in ’95/’96/’97/’98/’99

Camp will be held on Saturday, August 22, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Memorial Arena in Chatham and on Sunday, August 23, same time and place.

There is a $50 fee that must be paid before any player steps onto the ice.

If anyone is interested in attending, they can fill out the player recruitment form here.

The Lakers will have an exhibition game on Sunday, August 30 against the Dresden Kings from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Thames Campus in Chatham.

The regular season gets under way on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Mooretown against the Flags.

Wallaceburg’s home opener is on Wednesday, Sept. 16 against Dresden. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
